Born in Como, Bianca Tognocchi graduated from the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan and is a winner of prestigious competitions such as the Tebaldi Competition, the Grand Prix de l’Opera, As.Li.Co, and many others. Her career has developed on significant stages in Italy and internationally.
Since 2010, she has performed for OperaLombardia, interpreting roles such as Olympia in *Les Contes d’Hoffmann*, Giulia in *La scala di seta*, Ninetta in *La finta semplice*, and others. She made her debut at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo in the role of Lucia in *Lucia di Lammermoor*, in its original version.
Among her early significant roles in Italy are Sandmännchen/Taumännchen in *Hänsel und Gretel* at the Teatro Regio di Torino and Nannetta in *Falstaff* at the Ravenna Festival under the direction of Riccardo Muti. She participated in the world premiere of Adriano Guarnieri’s *L’amor che move il sole e l’altre stelle* at the Ravenna Festival and the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto.
In 2015, she also performed Giannetta in *L’elisir d’amore* at La Scala, including in the production broadcast live from Malpensa Airport. She later interpreted Aminta in *Il Re Pastore* and Norina in *Don Pasquale* at the Opéra de Chambre de Genève. In 2018, she sang her first Gilda in *Rigoletto* at the Opera in Malmö, Sweden, and Adina in *L’Elisir d’amore* at the Sejong Arts Center in Seoul.
A particularly significant moment in her career was her debut in the role of Amina in *La Sonnambula* at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, which received great success and solidified her status as a specialist in the bel canto repertoire. Her collaboration with the Tiroler Festspiele has seen her take on prominent roles, including Susanna in *Le Nozze di Figaro*, Zerlina in *Don Giovanni*, Musetta in *La Bohème*, Elisa in *Il re pastore*, and the challenging coloratura role of the nightingale *Die Nachtigall* from W. Braunfels’ *Die Vögel*.
From 2018 to 2020, she was a member of the ensemble at the Oper Leipzig – Gewandhaus, where she portrayed Gilda in *Rigoletto*, Adina in *L’elisir d’amore*, Lucia in *Lucia di Lammermoor*, Hüter der Schwelle in *Die Frau ohne Schatten*, Frasquita in *Carmen*, the Italian singer in *Capriccio*, and Waldvogel in *Siegfried*.
Since 2020, she has been a member of the soloists’ ensemble at the Opera Frankfurt, where she has performed roles such as Gilda in *Rigoletto*, Susanna in *Le nozze di Figaro*, Madama Brillante in *L’italiana in Londra* by Cimarosa, Olga in *Fedora*, Despina in *Così fan tutte*, the Italian singer in *Capriccio*, and Norina in *Don Pasquale*.
She successfully debuted at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf as Lucia Ashton in *Lucia di Lammermoor*, and also at the Staatstheater Darmstadt in the same role. She has participated in important concerts at the Berliner Philharmonie and the Philharmonie Essen, and has sung Mahler’s *Symphony No. 4* and *Carmina Burana* at the Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid. She has also performed Leïla in *Les pêcheurs de perles* in concert with the Vivaldi Orchestra of Sondrio, conducted by Lorenzo Passerini.
Bianca had the privilege of collaborating with prominent names of the international music scene, including Haider, Luisi, Holten, Kuhn, Zagrosek, Morandi, Pertusi, Pizzi, Villazón, Spinosi, Schirmer, Michieletto, Muti.
Her recent engagements include Musetta in *La Bohème* at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Gasparina in *Il Campiello* at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Serafina in Donizetti’s *Il campanello*, and Fanny in *La cambiale di matrimonio* in Geneva. In the near future, she will return to portray Gilda at the Opera Frankfurt and will make her debut in the role of Bianca in Rossini’s *Bianca e Falliero*, an important addition to her bel canto repertoire. Additionally, she will interpret the role of Beauté in the new production of A. Magnard’s *Guercoeur*.
